About Danafrika

Danafrika is a restaurant and shop located on Nordre Fasanvej between Nørrebro and Frederiksbjerg.

The interest in running an African restaurant is also about African food and drinks in Denmark. Food bananas, yams, cassawa, chili, ginger, red palm oil, spices, dried shrimp, fish, rice, bissap, kinkéliba, tea and beer from various African countries - it should all be available in Copenhagen, Sidibé and the whole family thought already for 20 years ago. Import and shop came first - it was in 2003. Since then, the café opened and the smell of African food from both West and East Africa began to make its mark on the premises. In the beginning, it was a big challenge to find the customers, but participation in various festivals came to play a big role.

Great flexibility, networking, lots of involvement in cultural events such as Images of Africa (xxx), Couleur Café (link) and larger parties were the background for the pots in Danafrika. In addition, there are a large number of meetings and events with communal dining in the association Danafrika Kultur, which also started in 2003. Sidibé was also involved for several years in COOP's internal culture and staff association, where Danafrika was often responsible for organizing both African food and entertainment. In 20xx, Danafrika received official status as a restaurant with an associated grant.

Here in 2020, the restaurant offers African dinner dishes every day from Tuesday to Sunday - either for on-site dining or as a take away. For this you can enjoy beer from both Ghana, Kenya, etc.etc. African food for parties, organizations or specific events, parties, cultural meetings, etc. is gladly provided; different dishes can be selected and composed as desired.

After many years of experience with imports, African food and beverages, Sidibé is happy to share his knowledge as an entrepreneur. If you are interested in hearing more about how goods from Africa can come to Denmark, contact Danafrika.
